WP Creating Duplicate Pages and 404's When Updating Posts
-
I’ve just updated about 40 blog posts by adding meta, changing the titles, and updating the URL’s. However, this has created some additional problems for me that SEOMoz is seeing, but Google Webmaster Tools has not yet detected.
1) It has created duplicate pages for each of the posts. For example: https://townsendwardlaw.com/2009/12/21/sales-process-implementation-core-elements/. The duplicate page it has created is https://townsendwardlaw.com/page/17/. I can’t tell where this second page is living, so I can’t get rid of it. It did it to about half of the blogs that I updated.
2) When I’ve added tags, it’s creating independent pages/posts for each of the associated tags. For example:
https://townsendwardlaw.com/tag/inbound-marketing/
https://townsendwardlaw.com/tag/content-marketing/
https://townsendwardlaw.com/tag/social-media/
https://townsendwardlaw.com/tag/marketing/
Why is it doing this and how do I make it stop?3) 404 Errors as a result of a bug that adds my employer’s LinkedIn page to the end of modified URL’s. For example:
https://townsendwardlaw.com/page/13/www.linkedin.com/in/townsendwardlaw/
https://townsendwardlaw.com/2012/10/16/lead-generation-strategies-its-just-marketing-part-4/www.linkedin.com/in/townsendwardlaw
https://townsendwardlaw.com/page/13/www.linkedin.com/in/townsendwardlaw/
Again, Webmaster Tools hasn’t picked this up yet so I can’t see what’s linking to these, but I’ve gone through all of the posts that could have linked to them and am not able to find them. Why is this happening, and how do I find the links without Webmaster Tools?Thank you all for any help you might provide on one or more of these problems as I am at a loss!
