• Hi,

I have WordPress in my root directory, I want to change it to blog.php or something like that so I can create an entrance page.

Is there an easy way to achieve this without moving the whole blog to another directory.

  • If you have mod_rewrite .. you could try that .. but then you might have issues if you plan on using permalinks .. not sure though ..

    Yeah, I use permalinks.

mod_rewrite sounds dangerous. Thanks for the advice though.

I guess a manual rename will take a lot of tweaking.

It’s possibly doable via mod_rewrite/permalinks, but it’d be a thousand times easier to just move your blog to a subfolder.

On the other hand, search and you’ll come across ways on how to do an enterance page. They include like having your enterance page be index.html and then making the server use .html before .php and other solutions.
