Form that displays an output on page

Hello, I’m having trouble finding a way to create a form on a post that displays an output on the same page. For example, think of a free interest calculator- a visitor plugs in a couple of their own numbers, and a feedback number is displayed. Any advice on how to create this would be greatly appreciated!
