edit custom template pages

  • Hi all,

    I have been asked to do some work on a site that was developed in WordPress. It uses a child theme and contains several custom templates.

    For some reason – I cannot seem to edit these templates (they are ‘Portal Page’ templates – don’t know if this matters or not…) I have accessed the relevant template.php files via FTP and the files are just calling in the footer.php file, which should contain everything relevant for all the files across the site, surely (?).

    I’m really confused! Can anyone offer any help?
