Somewhere along the lines I have broken my RSS feed…

When I attempt to validate https://feeds.feedburner.com/drivetraffic, I receive the following errors:

    1. Feeds should not be served with the “text/html;charset=utf-8” media type.

    2. line 2, column 0: Undefined root element: xhtml:html

    3. line 5, column 0: XML parsing error: <unknown>:5:0: xml declaration not at start of external entity

The blog sits at https://www.drivetraffic.ca/blog/. If you view the source code you will see that I have commented out 3 meta data lines referring to the feed address, thinking they were wrong. I have another 3 lines immediately below.

    Thanks for any help!

There’s something wrong with your feed files…. If you go to your site… and view source…. copy the full address to the RSS2.0 feed and paste it into your webbrowser (hit enter to load the feed into it)…. then view source…. you’ll see the first few lines from your header file…. which is what is totaly jacking it up.

The first few lines should not be there…. it should be starting with the rss tag immediately.

I’d pull open the feed files (wp-rss.php I think) and see what’s going on in there.

When I look at wp-rss.php for the “broken feed blog”, it is identical to the same file for another blog that I have where the feed is not broken. Same goes for wp-rss2.php and wp-feed.php.

    Bizarre.

Any other ideas to try? Thanks!
