I have domain.com and I built domain.com/dev/wpresponsive. I backed up both sites using cPanel’s Installatron. Downloaded this plugin, which I think is great, even though I did something wrong and didn’t get the results that I am looking for. But anyway, I deleted domain.com and moved domain.com/dev/wpresponsive to domain.com. They have two (2) different databases and the tables are not using the default table prefix of wp_ they are using wtx4lpv0r_ and g8edfyaen_ respectively. I am getting “Error establishing a database connection” and I am not sure why. I did the test before I deployed and I got the “green light” to go ahead with the deployment but no luck. What did I do wrong and how can I fix it if I can? Do you have enough information to assist me?

  • Hey gibbsp999,

You might checkout the Duplicator cpanel video tutorial it walks through a database setup. Also pay attention to the case of lettering on your username and passwords they are case sensitive.

    Hope that helps!

This was my fault as I did not understand the instructions correctly. I worked but at the moment I cannot get into the back end anymore. I was able to when I first transferred the files. I am using Better WP Security maybe that is the problem. I will delete this plugin by FTP and see if that is an issue. Then hopefully I can reinstall Better WP Security.

You should be able to do that without any issues as far as I know, just be sure to always keep a backup of whatever you delete…

Uninstalled and reinstalled and it is working fine. Awesome plugin.

Awesome! Glad you got it going…
