Plugins update screen does not change – no error??

  • This is a bug effecting all wordpress installations on my server, so I believe it’s server config related.

    When I try to update a plugin, the update screen stops on the first item (Downloading Plugin). When I go back to the plugins page, the plugin has been update, but is in the disabled state.

    Any ideas on what could cause this? The server logs are NOT generating any type of error.

    I’m honestly stuck on this one. What process occurs during update? What would cause the page to just stop and no refresh, or not look for the next update step?
