WordPress Gallery Googlemap?

I’m going to go all Web2! Gallery 2.1, WordPress 2.01, and a google maps (gmaps) guestmap, also a google map for marking the points on my (mainly travelog) blog.

Any pointers? I think I have an idea of what I am going to use – half a day’s Googling for ideas, here!

For the guestmap, this is the only “self-hosted” gmap-based guestmap I can find:

I know there are other “hosted” guestmaps, but I like to keep my data in one place, under my control. Too many of these free hosted maps like myguestmap seem to spend a lot of time saying “server error”!

But as the Gallery and the Blog cross-over, I really want to have some sort of seamless Gallery/Wordpress/Gmap integration, where I can mark photos AND blog posts on the same map. Hmmm. Any ideas?
