Tag Cloud

  • My Tag Cloud is no longer updating with my new posts. Just wondering if there’s a limit to the number of tags or what the problem may be.

  • I think that the limit is 50, so only the tags that are used the most show up.

    Having too many tags is pretty useless. These tags are there to help your user navigate your site. Don’t be fooled in thinking that they are good for site optimization, they are not.

    When planning your taxonomy (categories and tags) I like to think of these as restaurant menu items.

    Categories: Breakfast, lunch ,dinner
    Tags: Soups, sandwiches, pasta, fish, chicken etc….

    Having over 50 different types of food to choose from in a restaurant menu would be overwhelming.
