Dropbox FIle modification Concerns – Possible hack

    I am using this plugin, but not using the Dropbox feature at all. I am instead using the FTP feature. So why is my security program telling me that the Dropbox.php file is being modified after every run.

    I am concerned that a copy of the backup file may be is being sent to Dropbox secretly. Can you confirm the reason for the dropbox file modification and what will happen if I delete this file.

    UpdraftPlus does not modify any of its own files. So if a file is being modified, it is by something other than UpdraftPlus. You should take a copy of Dropbox.php, and next time your security program tells you it is modified, take a fresh copy and compare the differences (e.g. using Winmerge). But there’s nothing I can tell you – best idea would be to get support for the security program, since I can’t explain why it gives alerts.

    Or did you or another site admin recently update UpdraftPlus? The most recent update has some changes, of course (or it wouldn’t be an update). Is your security program just telling you about those?
