Events calendar mini grid shows AJAX spinner

I really hope someone can help with this as I’ve been searching around for a couple of days.. I am using The Events Calendar v2.0.11 which is a great plugin. I have the mini grid in the sidebar but underneath the next / previous month links, it has a constant AJAX loading spinner and the links don’t work. I have tried deactivating all other plugins, changing the theme, taking out jQuery, reinstalling the plugin and everything else I can think of. I really hope someone can help because I don’t want to have to stop using it!
