I want to like this plugin but I can't b/c it prevents me from seeing my pages.

I can work on my site but I can’t check my work because only the maintenance page comes up after clicking on “visit site” and “view page”.
I’m curious how others deal with this.
I will give a star for good looks on the front end though.
