Wont activate

Strange – been using this plugin beautifully, but upgraded WP to 3.5.1 and BP to 1.6.4 and moved site to Amazon EC2 service, checked permissions on content folder, ok, but when I activate my sorely missed tags, it causes WP to white screen
Would it be a problem in DB, how do I clear out DB tables of tags, and try again
