Where can I find the archive.php file

  • I’ve created a custom post type in my theme, which works magically (including archiving). It’s just that it’s using the ‘post’ post type’s archive template, which I would like to duplicate them customize for my amazing post type ?? ..

    How can I?

  • The archive.php file should be in your theme’s folder. You will need to use ftp or a File Manager from your hosting service to make a copy and rename it archive-yourposttype.php.

    You should create a Child theme to make your changes. If you do not, all of your changes will be lost if you update your theme.
