• Hello,

So I was just finishing up setting up the plugin for posting purposes, and once I activated the secret key, facebook key and the page ID, I noticed that a few extra check-boxes came up. I clicked on the ones I was interested in, and submitted, then BAM – just came to a white page. No text, images, code or anything. I tried changing the URL to go to the admin dashboard, same thing. I changed the url to just go to my MultiSite blog I individually activated this, blank as well.

I had to delete the plugin via FTP to get things back to normal. When I log in to the admin area, and go to plugins, I get a message on the top stating, “The plugin simple-facebook-connect/sfc.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.”

I’m guessing that there is left over stuff in the database. How do I delete it ALL and start over? I’ll just try the auto post this time ??

Come on Otto/anyone, don’t leave me hanging here. How do I get rid of this error and start from scratch?

Removing the files removes the plugin completely, basically. Especially if you never set it up in any way. The message about it being deactivated is normal, as that comes from WordPress.

If you want to delete the options key, it’s in the options table using the key of “sfc_options”. But if the plugin doesn’t work on your site, then there’s really not much point, so I’m not sure what it is you’re asking. Deleting the plugin and db info and re-setting it up won’t fix anything. Doing the same thing twice and expecting different results.. well, you know what they say about that.

If you want to fix it, then you need to find the underlying problem of why the site whitescreened in the first place. Nobody else has reported that happening.

Thank you :). I got the error when I turned off a few other options that I kind of wanted in a different plugin, mainly the “log in with facebook” and “register with facebook”, I just want the “post to facebook”. So this time I plan to just turn on that option, and if it breaks the site, it breaks the site and it is not working and I’ll move on… but if it works! Then I will be ten times more happy.

    Thanks for the help Otto.
