post_category in posts table

  • What is the use of the column post_category in the table posts ?
    I am working on a bug in post2cat table and it seems that post_category is not really use, fill with weird value …
    From an overview of the code, only post2cat table is used for category stuff.

  • The post_category field is not used anymore and possibly will be removed in the future.

    Alright, I’m having problems with wp-mail.php, and I was wondering why post_category stays 0 (zero) even though I’ve specified other categories.
