Add custom text field for user input in cart only?

Hi,

I want customers to be able to make a small note on each product AFTER the product has been added to cart.

I used Gravity Forms and Add-ons to create such a field on the product page itself, but it’s not going to work for this example. I can also create a series of text fields as part of the booking process, and show the cart above, but the user still has to type out their preferences manually.

To explain, the customer is choosing a list of potential places to stay and I need them to be able to choose a preference order, which is something they will do when they have finished making their selections/adding to cart
