    Interesting, so does it always run off their server, i.e. thumbnails not stored on my end?

    podz> it runs an app on my server, and the script would have to upload the image through php etc. And by running serverside, i can manage maintain control over who is using it and avoid misuse

    So this is like Alexa thumbs or something?

    I asked in #wordpress:

    – you could have a blogroll with a ‘featured link’ showing a screenshot of the site in question
    or
    – you could have your links as these screenshots on a different page.

    If the files could be saved locally for whoever uses them that would save a lot of bandwith for Silkjaer though.

    Yeah, kind of an interesting idea…. the featured site application especially.

    Unfortunately this service is not available anymore. But I’ve found article which has some links to website thumbnail creators. Maybe it will save somebody time. Look here: website thumbnail creators
