[Theme: Weaver-II] Theme update hung, server error resulted

Hi,

I was updating my Weaver-II theme earlier and it seemed to hang – nothing happened for over 15 minutes. When I went back a page to the Updates page, a link at the top prompted me that an update failed to complete and to click the link to complete the process. Again, the page was directed to the update in progress page, and again, nothing happened. I finally left the page after an hour of waiting, and then I got a HTTP Error 500 message. This has shut me out from my WP control panel and my site can’t load.

Is there a back-door method to resolve this? I’ve already tried reinstalling Weaver II via FTP upload but it didn’t help. I also tried re-installing my index.php page from my backup file but that had no effect. I’d sure appreciate some good advice.
