    Yes: delete them!
(it’s not a wise idea to have too many; some of them ping other services, too, so you’ll end up double pinging and maybe banned…)

EDIT. And next time give a “normal” title to your post – something more descriptive.

Why would I not utilize that option with Word Press? So are you saying I should do a separate ping like at https://pingoat.com/ instead. I’m trying to get max coverage of my blog to increase traffic.

To say what moshu did in smaller words:

The more pingers you have in WP, the longer it will take to ping ’em. The longer it takes, the more likely you’re likely to get a timeout and blank page.

Related to that, many of the ping services ping the same places. So, if those places get a bunch of pings about you all at once, you’ll get dropped or ignored, thus defeating your original goal.

So do you have “one” ping service you use? Also, how do I implement “tags” within WP?

I, personally, let feedburner do it for me.

Ping-o-matic (default in WP) was having issues a month or so ago, but when it works it handles the job pretty well. Haven’t tried it recently.

As for tags, I suspect most folks use Ultimate Tag Warrior (aka UTW) plug-in. However, if you do a big of searching, you’ll turn up at least one or two other plug-ins that are a bit “simpler” to get rolling with (or at least, not so daunting with options!).

Do you have to sign up for it? As you can tell, I’m no tec geek ??

I didn’t list anything that needs signup.
