I love that you can detach images. Would it possible somehow to attach new images from the media library? Possibly saving them into a custom field that can be used later on the front-end? This would allow users not only to use regular attachments but also images already in the library.

I wouldn’t mind “sponsoring” this sort of update ??

    Thanks!

Unfortunately no. This plugin is designed specifically to display images attached to the current page. WordPress doesn’t support an image being attached to multiple pages, so we are unable to add this feature to the plugin

That’s why I was asking if it would be easy to setup so images could be added, not attached, but stored in a custom field and show up in the metabox along with the attachments ??

I know you are a busy man. So feel free to ignore me or answer me whenever.

You’ll have to figure out how to add a button to the media library that takes the image ID and adds it to the post meta. From there, you might be able to use the filter for the query arguments to customize the query for what you want.

I’m getting the feeling its not something you want to update this plugin with. Which isn’t an issue. Just thought I’d throw it out there in case you had some time to add this functionality or wanted some extra $$ as it would make the plugins much more useful for devs. I have no problem making my own plugin based on yours with this addition. Thanks for taking the time to answer my comments!
