• After updating to 3.5.1 I have been having endless issues with the gallery / uploading.
1- Images uploaded via the gallery do not show up.
2- Going to the gallery and viewing it, the images uploaded before do not appear in the gallery at all.
3- Trying to upload any new image always gives an “error please try again” , nothing else.
4- Re-installing the latest version, solves the problem always, but then something causes the problem to appear again, have no idea what it is.

What could be causing this and how to resolve it ?

    Thank you

Hi Ipstennu, I am glad you are still around ??
I am not sure if ImageMaick is used by Hostmonster, can I check, or should I ask their support?

You can check if you make a phpinfo() page ?? It’ll show you the details there.

I am sorry I am not sure I get what you meant.
If I ask my hosting if they use ImageMagick, and they do, what should I do?
    If they don’t , what?
    Thanks

Is there anything being caught in your error log?

And can you ask Hostgator to scan your site for hacks? Changing BACK implies something nefarious.

Dear Ipstinu, I called Hostmonster twice.
They said no hacks are apparently found. Log file showed nothing relevant.

I read that many other users having the exact same problem, could it not be a problem of WP itself, especially that, as I said before, when I re-install latest version problem is fixed, but it returns later?

    Not really, no.

If ‘it returns later’ then something is changing. So unless you’re being really silly and reinstailling 3.4, then upgrading to 3.5, over and over and over…

You should, at this point, STILL be on 3.4.x and if so, there’s no reason for the WP uploader changes to cause an error.

That said, you have to study your error log to understand what the real errors are. https://support.hostgator.com/articles/cpanel/apache-error-logs
