I have installed a plugin called ‘multi-url ping’.
I’ve added some additional blog urls I want to ping.

Are these automatically pinged at the same time as ping-o-matic (ie when I publish a post) – or do I have to manually click on the ‘update’ button to activate the ping?

The explanation isn’t clear enough for me.

I’m about to install another plugin called ‘smart update pinger’. Does this over-ride pings (on edits) for BOTH pin-o-matic and the multi-url plugin?

What is the purpose of this “multi-url ping” plugin? WordPress outta the box can ping multiple URLs automatically.

And “smart update pinger” is no longer needed as of 1.5.2 if I remember correctly.

The ‘smart update pinger’ plugin is supposed to stop pinging ping-o-matic every time we edit/ alter a post. It only pings POM when we publish the first time. This is to avoid ping spam. That’s my understanding of it and why I added it to my site.
