I am trying to remove the Jabber_published line from my posts and can’t figure out how to do it (I don’t use Jabber and don’t care for the way it clutters up my posts page).

You can see the lines here on this page: https://studiocworkshop.com/news/

The two with the jabber line are posts that I have updated…the other two are old posts imported from a wordpress.com page.

I am relatively new to wordpress and very code naive, so any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Have you disabled the jabber plugin?

Thanks for the suggestion. I thought of that myself, but I don’t have a jabber plugin installed. I wish it had been that simple.

So, standard troubleshooting time. Can you see if the problem is reproducable with all plugins disabled and the default theme activated? If not, then reactive your plugins and theme one by one until you can isolate which is causing the issue.

Hi studioCworkshop. I’m having the same issue. What prompts my asking is we’re both using the Pinboard theme. Did you find a resolution?

Not quite. The entry meta is desired. What isn’t desired is the auto-generated meta data (jabber_published). Its style is managed by .custom-meta.entry-category.

It seems a more graceful way to fix this might be to locate the jabber_published generating module, disable it, and/or run a script to remove this metadata from existing posts. It isn’t serving a purpose for my needs.

UPDATE: I experimented with the display:none; property for custom-meta.entry-category (and other implementations of the property). So far, nothing removes only the jabber_published metadata. I worry that a manual removal, per post, of this metadata will be required.

Found a solution for my needs. This plug-in let me bulk-remove that field from all posts.
