Strange animated gif problem
-
Just had the weirdest thing happen. I run a website for a musician, and tonight I had a request from Big Deal Music Festival to post an announcement. Included in the request were two .zip archives full of animated gif banners and badges.
Fine, no prob. Except for the animated gifs would NOT display on his WP-based site. I tried uploading them via the media uploader. I tried uploading them by hand via FTP client and typing the image tag in myself. No go. Finally looked at the page source, and WP was inserting inline CSS to set
display: none; visibility: hidden; height: 0px; width: 0px;
None of this was in the actual post. I mean, seriously, WordPress did NOT want anyone to see this image!
So I threw the .gif into Fireworks and re-exported it.
Worked just fine. No problem at all.
So… I’ve got the thing working. All is well. But does anyone have any idea what might have triggered this behavior? I’m not running any plugins that ought to affect an image like that.
Weirdness.
