Booking Calendar for Freelancers

I have now spent 2 days looking at booking, reservation and scheduling calendars and I am really frustrated!
Does anyone know of one of these plugins aimed at managing portfolio careers or freelance work?

I want to be able to do the following (I feel these are much simpler requests than are already available on many of even the basic plugins!)
1. Display my availability on a calendar (show dates/times that are booked or available)
2. Provide end users with a simple enquiry form for booking my services for user-defined times (ie start and finish times of a proposed job) and how many days/weeks the job should go on for.
Case study: Client requires a chef to work at a canteen next week from monday to friday from 08:00 to 16:00
Client sees the times are available on the calendar, so fills in the booking form supplying dates/times, contact info and any further details (venue, who to report to etc – standard text box).
3. Set enquiries to pending, so that I can confirm and accept the job before it posts to the calendar that I am booked.

Is this a lot to ask? I can’t possibly be the only person doing this kind of work, not to mention other resources this can be applied to (short-term hire, meeting rooms etc)

The closest I have found so far is supersaas, but it is visually horrific, clumsy and limited to use and requires managing through a seperate site which also requires my end users to sign up.
Appointment Calendar is wonderful, but requires fixed timeslots and prices to function.
