Single.php in child theme

    Hi. I made child theme for Bizway 1.6. It is said in codex/childthemes that any template page included in child overrides parent theme. SO i included single.php and changed page layout so that sidebar and content-bar position is adjusted. BUt that did not work. No change. WHen I do the same changes inside parent single.php it works.

    do you have the child theme acitvated?

    can you post a link to your site?

    what changes exactly did you make to the single.php in the child theme?

    Yes, it is activated. I changed grid layout for content-bar and sidebar so they occupy half of page each, but that did not work. Here is single.php of my child theme. It is basically a parent theme single,php with above modifications.

    I’m having trouble creating a ‘child theme’

    – where is WordPress 3.5.1 stored when using it for a website hosted by Bluehost?
    – What does it mean to download WordPress again as a backup in case the one being used becomes corrupt?
    – Is there a difference between downloading wordpress for MAC.
    – where is file “style.css” (that will be put in child theme folder) taken from – which WordPress application?
    – What “new” file is put in the new “child theme folder” (in wp content/themes) with name and description, and, info re importing patent style.css?
    – How is file with “style.css” info and description for child theme created, with a text editor?
    – And if so, how is it uploaded to the ‘child theme’ folder?
    – How to use the (Tex Wrangler) text editor when creating a child theme?
    – Does Text editor (Text Wrangler) have to be downloaded within the WordPress dashboard (when building a website) or is it download onto my computer as an application?
    – can twentyeleven theme and twentyeleven child still be used with twenty twelve already being available?

    My apologies. I don’t post usually, and, on account of my unfamiliarity and ignorance of posting I thought I was to post in a subject similar to the one I was dealing with and trying to solve. Thank you for your advice, however, and please rest assured that there was no intention to hijack your post.

    Please let me know how I can remove my comment that I posted earlier and i will gladly rid you of the burden of having to suffer this horrible affront. Again, my apologies and thank you.
