What have you tried so far?

…we cleared the browser cookies + browser cache and we also found some other suggestions on the web last week. We also tried another link to login: https://www.blao.co.uk/wp-admin/edit.php
We don’t have a very technical background, so don’t we really know what to do with the other suggestions mentioned in the codex you sent and are afraid to do something wrong. Is there any help desk in the UK we could call?

    No.

-These forums are volunteer. If you can’t do the work yourself, consider looking for a professional to fix it correctly on https://jobs.wordpress.net/

No, this is the only support for self-hosted sites. I’d suggest trying the deactivating your plugins here:

    Thanks WPyogi and t-p!

@wpyogi: I found a wordpress folder on my computer and in the plugin folder there are 13 other folders, like ‘directionality’ – ‘paste’ – ‘fullscreen’ – ‘tabfocus’……. So do I have to delete all of them??

No, don’t delete them – just change the name (temporarily) on the plugin folder – i.e. from “plugins” to something else like “pluginsHOLD”.

…just did, but the login page stays blank

-try clearing cache in your browser before viewing the updated page. To clear cache in your browser, press clrl+f5 keys simultaneously. Also, try different computer/different browser.

FYI – we work with Mac.
We cleared the cache before and tried it again – also on our second Mac, via Safari and Firefox. Still a blank admin login page: https://www.blao.co.uk/wp-admin/

    – To rule out any theme-specific issue, try switching to the unedited default theme for a moment. Since you don’t have access to your admin area, you can switch to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using via FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

I don’t have any folder called ‘wp-content/themes’ on both Macs…?

It’s not on your Mac – all of this should have been happening on your server – including the above step about plugins. You need to be using FTP to access your site.

OK – just logged in onto our cPanel and did everything you mentioned above – but still the admin page stays blank
