    Hi there,

I love this plugin. Great work. Thank you.

The site I am working on right now uses a host that is new to me. When trying to migrate wordpress I get the error:

“system requirements: fail” and the detail is that everything passed except for MySQL support.

So I contacted the host and they have the latest version running but not the extension MySQLi. They are planning to install it but I wonder if you could confirm that that is a requirement or not.

    Thanks,

    Alice

  • Hi Alice,

MySQLi is a requirement for the plugin to work on the installer side. Hope that helps!

Thank you. I will be sure to ask new hosts if they have that installed at the start of a project.

This is really such a great plugin. I used to do a MySQL export and find and replace plus all the other stuff. This is just SO much better in every way. I encourage others to try it.

I would be very happy to pay to use it. From my perspective I would recommend that you make it free to use say, two or three times and then pay for a license from then on.

    All the best,

No Problem! Here is a list of hosts that I have used with quite a bit of success…

    Cheers!

Hello, I have the same exact problem as gatehousedesign. Im installing a wordpress site on a host that I’ve not chosen and I cant find that mysqli is enabled when looking at phpinfo and get the fail in installer file.

    1) I wonder if there is any way to work around this? Can on manually unzip the file in ftp or something that, makes me succeed with the installation anyway.
Or do I just have to go down another path?

    2) My second question is: Is it a boig thing for the host to make mysqli available? Is it complicated and not just something they switch on and off…?

    Thanks
    ~ Johan

    Hey hectornado

    1) To create the package you don’t need mysqli as the plugin uses the default WP database routines. However the installer.php and installation routines require mysqli. This might change in future versions to support more modules such as PDO. Currently as of version 0.4 there is no work around.

    2) No it is not a big deal. This is a very simple feature and very common on 90% of most hosting providers. This should be very easy for your host to install and enable. It is also the next generation of mysql libraries as the older generic ‘mysql’ libs are being deprecated. If your host can’t provide this common module then I would consider switching…

    Cheers!

    Hey, thanks for the answer.

Talked to the host who immediately installed and enabled it.
Thanks for a great great plugin that always works perfectly.

No Problem! Glad you got things going!
