Comment exist but are not displayed

  • I have had my blog running for about a month, without a single problem (WP2.0). But since today, the comments no longer show up. They exist: they show in the admin pages but not on the blog itself. They are not waiting for moderation.

    I did install a second blog, on the same domain, using a different mySQL database, could that have caused the problem? If so, would deleting that second blog do the job?

  • I don’t see how the second blog would have anything to do with it. (Though I could be wrong.)

    The comments are obviously there, I can see them in the RSS.

    Have you made any changes to your template files recently, specifically comments.php? Without seeing the files themselves – just looking at your source – I don’t see any attempt to grab the comments.

    Install any new plugins? Made any other changes to any files in this blog?

    Hm, no changes that I know of, but I will check the comments.php against the original theme code. Thanks for your help and I′ll let you know today if I find anything irregular.

    No, I pasted the original code for comments.php in there, and I still don’t see any comments. Very strange. They show up in the admin pages, but not on the blog itself…
