    Hi Scott,

Usually users who experience this have another conflicting plugin. Does deactivating all your plugins (except BuddyPress) fix anything?

    Thanks.

It also might be a theme issue, so try using the default BuddyPress theme if all fails and let us know.

Thanks for the suggestions. I disabled all plugins except buddypress and switched to the default template and it still does not work. I imagine it has something to do with the newer versiob of buddypress.

Just an update. I created a fresh wordpress multisite with only buddypress 1.7beta and the custom profile menu plugin and it does not show.

I noticed this in my error logs.

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/esolodge/public_html/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-custom-profile-menu/templates/groups/index.php'

I do not see a groups directory under templates. Ideas?

It must be the multisite then, since we already tested with BuddyPress 1.7beta and all was working fine. We’ll test with multisite and let you know.

Thank you very much, we really appreciate all your input.

I installed this plugin and it breaks the functionality of buddypress. Its making statuses disappear and does not allow you to update status.

When I delete this plugin it works fine…using buddypress 1.6

@scott: would you please install the latest version and let us know if you have any problems?

@TPdaking: any ideas on how to replicate this issue? The plugin works fine for us and many others for the most typical configurations. Are you able to replicate your issues on a fresh WordPress and BuddyPress install? Thank you.

Thx for the follow up! Not sure of what your asking. All plugins are up to that and I’m only using bp 1.6 and wordpress 3.5 all are the latest versions. Waiting for bp 1.7. But when I notice the issue I deactivated all plugins and custom profile was the issue. So really at a lost! Thx again

    Thank you.

Are you able to get it running on a fresh install of WordPress and BuddyPress?

I don’t have a fresh install anymore but it still will not display the menu. It also breaks this plugin https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/buddypress-group-tags/ . Even if I deactivate the group tags plugin and use the default buddypress theme I still cannot get it to work.

Were you able to get it working on Buddypress 1.7?

    Plugin Author sensibleplugins

    (@sensibleplugins)

Yes, we have it working on the latest WordPress 3.5.1 and BuddyPress 1.7beta.

Just installed BP 1.7 and it still does not work.

@TPdaking – Are you using multisite?
