I have moved my website from Godaddy to Fasthosts. I have set up a new database with a new username and IP address. The website and database have been restored to the new site and work fine however every 20 minutes or so, the wp-config file is being overwritten with the old version and I get a database connection error. Uploading the wp-config file puts everything right for another 20 minutes or so and then the error occurs again. I have disabled all plug-ins.

Can anyone help a damsel in distress!

    Many thanks

Looks like some script/ code interference. Site URL?

It seems to be a server problem. I tried to use some tools and the server is closing connection without sending any data back. I think you need to take up the issue with your host.

I have spoken to the hosts – they say it is a script problem within wordpress. Back to square 1!

OK, I am able to connect to the server now. Also, I get your site fine. You may watch for any further trouble and report here for further troubleshooting.

Just replying from the Avada forum as I noticed you had also posted here. If your wp-config.php file is set to read only (400 or 440) no script within wordpress would overwrite the file.

The only way that can happen is if you as the file owner set permissions so you can edit the file, or if the host is restoring files from backup. But I can’t think of an instance where a web host would restore only a single file, and I can’t imagine why they would restore an entire backup unless you asked them to.

On the outside chance that this is being caused by a script within your instance of WordPress, it might be good to know what plugins you have installed, if any.

I wish I could be of more help, but what you are experiencing makes no sense to me.
