I am having a terribly difficult time getting embedded videos to view on the iPhone/iPad and Safari (the native browser on the iOS devices). I have tried every HTML5 video embed plugin I can find…. nothing is working. Every plugin works wonderfully on a multitude of browsers on Mac and PC computers, but on my iOS devices I see a nice little black box on the web pages and no video. I either get a notice about a bad network connection or the video format being unsupported.

Thing is, these videos are straight out of iTunes. At first, I tried preparing them myself. When that didn’t work, I imported the videos into iTunes and then had iTunes create an iPhone version of the video, so that I could verify that this was in fact a valid format. The videos play great inside iTunes on the iPhone, but they won’t load in the web page.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ??

You’re probably trying to use flash on an iPhone, which isn’t possible.

That said, I fail to see how this is a WordPress issue.

That’s what I thought at first, but all the plugins I’m using don’t use Flash. I purposely was looking for HTML5 versions of the embedded video plugins, and I’m still having issues.

When a video uses Flash on the iPhone, the kinds of error messages I’m mentioning don’t show.
