Double apostrophe in comments only

  • I’m running several WordPress sites on Windows Azure using the db-abstraction plugin to connect to SQL Azure. All sites are running 3.5.1. I have another site running on a local 2003 box (IIS 6) also connecting to SQL Server. All of the sites, both the local and on Azure, are doubling apostrophes in the comments only. Double quotes work fine, it’s only single quotes/apostrophes that don’t work. Also, several different themes are being used, and all exhibit the same behavior.

    I have looked at the database, and it is definitely putting doubled apostrophes in the field.

    PHP version 5.3 and 5.4 exhibit the same behavior. I ran phpinfo() on a couple of the sites and it reports that Magic_Quotes are off.
