Adding an amazon affiliate’s link in a post

    I hadn’t tried this since upgrading to WP2 but I wanted to link to a CD I posted about today — not that anyone ever actually buys anything through my website, but the picture is always nice to have. However, whether I just c+p’d into the WYSWYG editor or into the HTML editor, the iframe code (which I absolutely hate anyway) got all mucked up and half of it kept disappearing.

    Is there a trick to doing this now?

    What about that WP-Amazon plugin? Does that work with WP2?

  • I’ve been having the same problem. With 1.5, I’d either just plop my iframes into the code, or I’d span them to get them positioned how I like. Once I upgraded to 2.0.2, mucho weirdness.

    Existing posts display properly and without so long as I don’t muck around with them.

    Trying to insert new links, either in the edit window or in the HTML window, breaks the pages. One effect: all the contents after the insert disappear. More commonly: the contents of a post from after the iframe insert to some point into the contents of the next post don’t display…they effectively disappear; with the formatting of the page breaking (in my case, the main wp contents flowing into the sidebar).

    Since I shouldn’t have to work this hard to make something that worked before work again, I’m simply going back to 1.5 for the time being…it’s less frustrating. I am looking forward to seeing any good solutions come out of this.

    yes that WP plugin works with 2.0

    I added several Amazon Associate links into the body of a post. Came back to my blog later and the menu options on the right had all disappeared. Deleted the Amazon code and the PRESTO – the menu items reappeared. Looking forward to trying out the plug-in. I hope it works.

    If anyone has any stories about using the plg-in with Amazon Associates, I would love to hear them.
