Issues generating galleries after configuring suPHP

I have been using nggallery for some time with no issues. I run my own server and beefed up PHP allocations to allow for big gallery imports. This worked just fine for some time by 777’ing files and folders after uploading and letting the script do its thing. However last week, I configured suPHP since I wasn’t a fan of letting such loose permissions sit there. Since then, generating galleries have been a bit of a pain. Prior to suPHP, the script would run, and eventually all images would be added to the database and then the thumbnails would be generated. Now, the script will hold for about a minute, stop on a white page, and appear to have only put some of the images in the database. However in refreshing the gallery page under manage galleries periodically, it’s apparent that images are still being added to the database. They all eventually get added to the database, but because the script didn’t finish in the browser, I have to generate the thumbnails in the manage gallery page. Files and folders are owned by the linux user with permissions of 644 and 755 respectively. The only changes made to the server was the configuring of suPHP which has worked great everywhere else, this is the last place. It appears that my values are still in place, and in the research I’ve done I’ve only been able to thus far has said to increase various values, but since they already are I’m pretty lost on this one. There must be something simple that I’m overlooking. I will continue to try to research this, but if anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
