I had two sites to update Twitter Widget for, so updated the first. Logged into the second account went through the process, logged my application under the name of my second client and went through the authorisation process, and it authorised using the first client twitter name!???..when I was signed into twitter using the second client twitter credentials!

    How can that happen!

I deleted the incorrect application on the first account to re-try.

I now cannot go forward and have a username in my panel that says
    @qnapeoplematter – Reauthorize…
    when the user is @completely_different!!

Please help! my second clients tweetzs are now not available.

    Thanks for all your help

Can you share with us how to remove accounts that were authorized in error? Thanks!

I wish I could. My comment above was sarcastic, in that, I have had absolutely no response – not even a “we have no idea!“, which would be better than ignoring me. I will be deploying an alternative widget now. I still have the wrong ‘authorised’ account on my clients twitter account – which he is VERY unhappy about.

If you find out how to do it, please do let me know! My gravatar is me pulling out my hair. Aargh!

So I did this by mistake when I updated the plugin on multiple sites. I forgot to log out of Twitter ?? So, to remove it, log in to the Twitter account you authorized it on , click on the Settings Icon in the top right, then Apps on the left. Then Revoke Access to the app you approved.
Then you should be able to go back in the plugin settings and redo it. You will still see it there but it will show the Username in red with Reauthorize next to it. You need to make sure you are fully logged out of both dev.twitter and twitter.com each time.
you can also go in and delete the application you set up at dev.twitter.com and set them up under the clients dev account.
    Hope that helps.

The issue on my end is not authorizing the correct account…its having my account there available to “reauthorize” in their settings. I guess I could go into the database and remove that?

Well, the only way they would be able to reauthorize it on your account is if they had your twitter password. I took a look in the database and it would be in the options table. I would make sure to run a database backup first.

I’m truly not worried about them reauthorizing it…I just don’t want it there to confuse anyone.

Well, looks like the options table it is! Look for the option_name twitter_ and you will find the area where that plugins settings are. For the value, look for your twitter id.

    Done!

Sorry…I’m just a perfectionist, AND I know that when they hire interns over the Summer to blog, etc. that they would have questions about it. I feel better that its gone.

BTW, the option name you are looking for is “twp-authed-users”.

Ahh gotcha, I just took a quick look. Thanks for clarification on the option name!

Hey guys: I’ve released version 2.6.0 with a nice little “remove” link under each name. Sorry it took me so long to get around to it.
