Error 500/.htaccess

    Whenever i try to access my blog, it comes up with an error 500. In the server error log it says:
    > [Sun Mar 12 21:04:31 2006] [alert] [client 82.47.215.125]
    /home/sam/public_html/Personal/blog/.htaccess:
    > Expected </IfModule> but saw </IfModule>>
    But when i check my .htaccess there is nothing that says </IfModule>>

    Can anyone help
    If anyone wants to see the content of my .htaccess please ask

  • may be you can try uploading the .htaccess file again. open notepad, put in the code and save the file as htaccess.txt, then upload it to the server and rename it to .htaccess. you may also CHMOD it to 666 for the best performance…

    I’m sure there is a reason somewhere for this, but I had an issue in a plug-in, where it would always output >> when there was only one of them, my solution was to get rid of the one > there was and then it worked fine. So try getting rid of the one > that there is and see what that does.

    I had this exact problem. Seems that when I copied the .htaccess rules from WordPress admin and pasted them in the .htacces file, something went wrong. What I did was I edited the file in a local editor and uploaded it again, and it works!

    Update: Sorry, didn’t see that it was resolved…
