How to remove all widgets programmatically

  • Hi,
    I’ve got some code working that auto creates a blog (multisite) adds categories etc and basically does sets up the site exactly how I want it for first time users.

    However, for the life of me I can’t find any SIMPLE code that removes the default widgets in the sidebar (meta, recent posts, recent comments etc)

    I want a completely BLANK sidebar for new users.
    I don’t want to UNREGISTER them, just remove them from the sidebars.

    Is there some simple code to do this?
