Hacked by Breakers

  • My WP site has been hacked. Instead of showing my site I get a black screen that says Hacked by Breakers. I also can not log into my wp-admin page.

    I have notified my host (just a few minutes ago) but have not yet heard anything.

    What else can / should I be doing at this point?
    Has this happened to anyone else? What was the end result?

  • What version of WP were you running? Can you access the CPanel or some management interface for your site? Can you check on the database contents through that?

    Can you upload a new index.php from the WP archive to you site and see if things show up? Can you use FTP to look at what files are left on your site?

    I’ve experienced this too some days ago. I am using WP 2.0

    I uploaded a new index.php and also the wp-admin folder, which had been removed! I also changed the password for the database etc.

    My database content seems to be untouched (as far as I know).
