• The theme that I converted over from rapid weaver is having some problems in internet explorer. First of all, when you go to the site, the navbar loads, and then all the posts appear a lot farther down the page. When I am using Internet Explorer 7.0, this problem disappears, but then again, most of the world is using IE 6.0, so how can I fix this. Also, the site works fine in Safari and Firefox.
Just go to the site in IE and I think you will see what I mean.

    and the blog here: https://blog.amkouri.com

The homepage is located here: https://www.amkouri.com

  • Anytime I’ve had that “jumping” problem, it’s been a matter of the part that’s jumping actually being a pixel or two bigger than what the container/content div allows. Sometimes it’s because of a large photo (though that doesn’t seem the case here) but typically you need to use a hack for IE.

Try this thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/31557?replies=13 or do more searches for “Holly Hack” or “IE Peekaboo”

THIS Looks really awful in internet explorer, and more help would be appreciated, because I have tried searching for Holly hack and IE peekaboo, and I have goten nothing

I’d start by cleaning up the code: you have too many validation errors, so it’s difficult to say where the problem is:
    https://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A//blog.amkouri.com/

I’d also check the Meta and the search section in the sidebar – they seem to be displaced and/too wide for the width of the sidebar.

Usually the cause of a “sinking” sidebar or content is the existence of a wider element either in the sidebar or in the content. Wide meaning: wider than the width defined in the stylesheet. Sometimes you have to go by trial and error, take out element one by one and see when will work…

thanks moshu – you clarified for me! ??

Yep, it looks awful in IE. Just curious, is there any reason that little picture of John Kerry weighs in at 1.3Mb?

Because I have way too many server resources…and If people want to see the image larger, they can do that…
