Same base url for all albums
-
I was wondering, if it could be possible to set a fixed “base” url for the complete installation of wppa. Let’s say /photogallery/. Usually the base url changes depending on the page in which an album is embedded. With a fixed base the album url would be always /photogallery/?locale… and not /photogallery/subpage/?locale… even if I embed an album on a page different from /photogallery/.
I hope my request is understandable. I would like to explain why I need this feature. Possibly what I cam trying to do can be achieved another way, if so, I am open for suggestions.
I have my gallery sorted by year, so on the page /photogallery/ I have the main gallery inlcuded with %%wppa%% with the sub albums 2013, 2012, 2011 and so on. In the albums I have the different events, such as “European Championships 2012” and “World Championships 2011” and so on.
Now I want the visitor to be able to browse the gallery by year (which is possible via the main gallery) and in addition by type of event. As there is no way to add an album to different parents, my idea was to create specific pages to provide alternative sorted overview of albums. For example, a page /photogallery/events/european_championships/ where I include all European events via %%wppa%%%%cover=21%%%%wppa%%%%cover=26%% and so on.
This works fine so far, on this page, all european events are shown. One problem: The link from the title of the shown album cover or the thumbnail links to /photogallery/events/european-championships/?locale=en_US&wppa-album=5&wppa-cover=0&wppa-occur=1. This, unfortunately is not only the album but shows the page with all the album covers and the content of the album I just clicked on. If the link only would go to the fixed base url /photogallery/?locale… there would be no problem.
