want rss feed to display most recent post for specific category

    im wondering if the number of post shown for specific category rss feed can be controlled & if so how to do it.

    in the dashboard > settings > reading settings >
    Syndication feeds show 12 of the most recent post.

    this is fine for most of my categories, however i do have several categories that i would only want to display only the most recent post ( show 1 post ). i dont know if im going about it the wrong way .. ive tried dealing with the rss code itself but my attempts have failed … over & over again !!!!!!!

    here is an example of an rss feed ( ive tried lots ) it shows the 12 post
    https://psychic3000.com/wordpress/?cat=436&feed=rss2

    so can this be done
    only show 1 post for target category
    if so what is the best way of doing it ?
    A) directly with rss feed ( provide example )
    B) some edit in my child theme ( provide example )
