• Hi there,

I am using Mamp Pro, so I can create different hosts from different sites. At the moment working on a Buddypress powered web site.

I have something I can’t figure out – am working with another developer, he uses ‘localhost’ on his machine as the host, so naturally I have tried doing the same – does not work I get a :

HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.

But…if I create a new host naming it something else the site does appear…only obviously with a lot of broken links (for /wp-admin for example) because the DB is full of calls to localhost/…

    Any idea ? Please ?

    Amit

It is a URL problem. Search and replace the correct URL (whatever it is that you want).

    Yeah, thanks,

There are two problems with that though –
1 – BuddyPress has a lot of calls to localhost – total 184 results
2 – the other developer is working on his machine using localhost so we need to use the same url calls for version reasons,

The strange thing that if I create a different host name it’s up and if I use localhost it fails

    Thanks,
    Amit
