Not my site, but one I built for a friend – https://lookieboo.com

She sent me a message that her sidebars are being pushed to the bottom of the page (home page only) after she added a widget. The widget has been removed but we’re still seeing the sidebar issue.

    Suggestions?

    Edited to add:

-checked individual posts over the past few days (she installed the widget today), none of them seem to be causing the issue
-she knows nothing of CSS or any coding, so she wouldn’t have been messing with the Editor or any files via FTP. according to her, she just changed the code in a Text widget for a ‘hidden’ badge. the code she showed me doesn’t have any div or table tags that would have been an issue.

some unmatched opening/closing divs definitively are reflected in that validation report:

    https://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Flookieboo.com%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

(at least) this single post is ‘messed’ – double check for properly closed and valid html tags, using the ‘text’ setting of the post editor

Thanks, that makes me wonder if she hadn’t actually looked at her site in the last couple weeks. My fault for believing her when she said it started yesterday after the widget change. I’d imagine that one post would have immediately started causing issues after being published, yes?

    very likely…

main thing is, you could help your friend to get all sorted and looking good again ??

please mark this topic as ‘resolved’ if you don’t have any further questions; thanks
