    Regarding Jetpack publicize –
I just updated the latest update for Jetpack. There is a box to check if I want to post to facebook. When I posted/published last week I had no problem. Now I cannot post/publish to Facebook my latest post on 4/16. Can you help me? It worked well up until this latest update.

My website is makeminelemon.com if you need to check it. It is a food blog. My latest was pasta, but if you go to Facebook it is last weeks post.

    Thanks in advance.

I need to amend my previous request for help. I noticed on my draft posts I am able to check the box to publish on Facebook – previously it was a default setting. However, regarding my latest post that I have published it did not post to Facebook. When I went back in to try to edit it, I am unable to check the box. I tried to place it back in draft form and then try to edit, it still will not allow the correction. I hope this make better sense. Any advice will be appreciated.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Jetpack Publicize only works for newly published posts, so you won’t be able to go back and use Publicize with a post that was already published.

If, however, Publicize is not triggered for new posts either, could you try to reset the connection by following the instructions here:
    https://jetpack.me/support/publicize/#reconnecting-facebook

Let me know if it helps.

You used to be able to send a second update to facebook if a post was republished, I dont get why this feature was removed

Also, I think it’s broken. I already submitted a support request but I cant get it to work on any of my sites. Maybe facebook changed something, this used to happen all the time with the facebook page publish plugin too

Actually, for some reason it’s sending all of my page updates to my personal profile. I’ve disconnected and reconnected and it still does the same thing

If you want to send a second update to Facebook, you will have to use the sharing buttons, or post a new update on Facebook manually.

Could you try to completely reset your Facebook connection by following the steps here? It’s important that you delete the WordPress.com app on Facebook as well.

Ok, I thought it was just me. I rechecked and reset my Publicize/Facebook connection per your suggestion. The drafts seem to work so I guess I will just wait and see for next week.

Do you know of a way to get this one already publicized post to Facebook or is it just a wash for the week? I have people that just read my fb and only click over if it is something they like.

Thank you for your responses and the feedback.

You could do it “the old fashioned way”, by using the sharing box on your Facebook Page, and pasting the post URL there.

Thank you Jeremy. Nothing like a glitch to make me feel inadequate. Facebook hates me. lol.

I’m experiencing the same problem as igneous where posts set to go to a page are going to my personal profile. I fully reset my connection between the problematic blog and Facebook twice and set the selector to post to my page, and it is still posting to my personal profile. Looks like a bigger glitch to me…

@cajames We indeed experienced issues with Facebook Publicize yesterday. The problem should now be fixed.

If you still experience issues, could you start a new thread and let me know your site URL so I can have a look?

    Hello,

When I first downloaded the JetPack plug-in, my site was under the temporary URL. However; now that the site has gone live I am not sure as to how I can change the URL to the permanent one. As of now, publicize is forwarding my published content to an inactive page and email subscriptions are also being forwarded to this link: https://69.195.124.100/~hiphopf4/hiphopflucom.

    The correct link is: https://hiphopflu.com

    Please assist.

    Jeremy,

Don’t laugh, but I learned to manually insert my post to Facebook – I had avoided Facebook until my followers ask for it. I love your Jetpack because it saved me one more step. It seems I understand WordPress and the plugins better than Facebook. So I am good to go for now that is if Facebook would just stop plotting against me. lol

    Regards,

What am I missing? I am unable to check the box to automatically post to Facebook when I publish a post? After my last problem, I was careful to see the box was checked. This worked after my last conversation with you, but now it is back to the same issue. Only this time I tried to check the box before I published, but was unable to do so. I manually posted to Facebook, but I really like to have the option to automatically post while publishing.

    Any help will be appreciated.

Publicize only works with newly published posts, so you may run into issues if you use a plugin to clone or copy posts.

If that’s not the case, could you try to reset your Publicize connection, as explained here:
