Can't Activate after Update

Updated plugin before fix in latest version; then tried to roll back. I imagine I ran into data incongruent in database but can’t seem to get it to jive. I deleted plugin entirely, deleted everything I though was related in database. Reinstalled new version. No go. Just 500 internal server error when trying to activate. Server log is giving me a timeout error. Any thoughts? Our users loved loved loved the way we used this plugin, would really like to get it working again/only know enough to be dangerous.
