• Hello all-

First off let me say how cool WP is and how much I appreciate the dev’s and support community’s hard work.

    Now, the issue:

Every single page associated with my WordPress install loads slowly. Usually the load time averages between 9-13 seconds.

    I’m running WordPress 2.0.2, MySQL 3.23.58, PHP 4.2.2, and Apache 2.0.40.

I installed back mid February, and at that time, the pages were loading in split second time, but intermittently would jump up to 3-10 seconds. Then several days ago, and shortly after I moved the WordPress index.php in to replace my old one, (I upgraded from Coranto), I noticed the issue. I don’t get a huge amount of hits on the site. I got about 1200 hits the opening day of the redesign, but average around 5-600 since.

My initial thought is that it may be a server load issue, but other pages don’t appear to be affected, and other PHP apps such as PHPBB are running pretty quickly. Also, the speed doesn’t appear to be affected by the traffic.

I’ve tried disabling and removing all plugins, optimizing the DB and removing the Pingomatic link to no avail. Nothing seems to make a substantial change in the slowness.

    My site is:

I hope someone can help us out. I really like WordPress, and hope that my server just isn’t choking. *hack hack*

    Thanks Again!

It appears that this was a server related issue and is presently resolved. I’m now getting and average sub 0.4 second page loads. I’ll make another reply if we find that WordPress kicked off the issue. ??

    Best Regards

Out of curiosity – do you know what sort of server issue it was for posterity’s sake?
