what happens to my old posts when I delete the old admin account?

When you delete a WP admin or any other account, you will be shown the option to move posts/pages into another account and another author

If you delete admin, all the posts/pages will still be available with other accounts. It will not delete posts/pages.

Thanks for the clarification, but i have tested on a multi-site. i have deleted ‘admin’ using other administrator ‘admin2’ account. It did not provide any options and after deletion all admin’s post were simply there.

@deepak: and who was the author of those posts? They can’t be”simply there”.

Both of you are right. It will give option to move posts into other account.

In my case I was removing user in multi-site from one instance, and it was not asking any such option.

But in single site or in mulitsite’s global users section it asks ??

I’m trying to delete my admin account after creating a new admin, using multisite.

I’m not getting any options to transfer posts, either on main network or subsites. What will happen to the posts and authors?

I get this message when trying to delete..

“Transfer or delete posts before deleting users.

Warning! User cannot be deleted. The user admin is a network administrator.”
