Database error when installing WordPress 2.0.2

Hello,

I just tried to install WordPress 2.0.2, but I am getting the famous ‘Error establishing a database connection’ error.

I checked my database login data like 50 times, but they are 100% OK. I even installed an Invision Power Board last night.

I think it has something to do with the combination of the applications installed on the server, because I can’t even install WordPress from Plesk 8, then I get the same error.

The server is running Debian Linux, Apache 2.0.55, PHP 4.3.10-16, MySQL 4.1.11 and Plesk 8.

Does someone recognize this problem, or does someone know a solution for this? I have already tried the latest nightly build, but that didn’t help either.
